Taking Care of Your Sunnies
Keep your sunnies looking as new
When you find a pair of sunglasses that look great and feel wonderful, you can become very attached to them. The trouble is, most sunglasses are a big part of an active and sometimes outdoor lifestyle, so they can often be susceptible to wear & tear. Here are some tips to help you hold on to your sunnies and keep them in good condition.
Back to basics
Always carry your sunglasses in a sturdy case when you’re not wearing them. To keep them in shape, use both hands to take them off and never put them face down onto a surface – scratches can be very annoying, or ruin your lenses. It’s best to avoid wearing them on your head as it can distort the shape.
Check your sunnies regularly to make sure the screws aren’t loose - if you find one that is, tighten it gently with a small screwdriver or come into your local OPSM store and we’ll tighten it for you. Keeping a care kit handy with all the essentials - a cloth, lens solution and screwdriver will help keep your sunglasses in tip top condition.
To clean lenses, it’s best to use a gentle lens solution. To avoid scratches, never wipe the lens when they're dry (there may be dust or particles) and don't use paper towels or other rough materials. Be extra careful when cleaning prescription sunglasses, as the lenses can be more delicate than non-prescription lenses.
